Barbara Annis is founder and CEO of Barbara Annis & Associates, Inc. She is a leading edge thinker and consultant who has designed and delivered major initiatives on the value of Gender Intelligence® to Fortune 500 companies and other organizations worldwide for more than 20 years. Considered an authority on gender diversity, Barbara has brought her breakthrough message on gender and diversity to corporate clients, workshops and keynotes. She guides men and women beyond “he said, she said” to a higher level of understanding. Men and women come to recognize the strengths that both genders bring to business and are able to use it as a powerful competitive advantage. Barbara is Chair of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Women's Leadership Board. She speaks regularly on gender and cultural diversity, and gender and leadership issues, and has appeared on national cable and broadcast outlets such as ABC, CNN, CBC and TVO. Recently, she was appointed by the American Democracy Institute to work on Gender Intelligent Leadership with the Obama Administration, Congress and emerging leaders in the U.S. Public Service.
Her first book, Same Words, Different Language, uncovers groundbreaking insights and tools for creating powerful win-win relationships between the genders, and provides ways to break through gender barriers. Her book, Leadership and the Sexes (John Wiley, 2008) reveals the latest brain-based research on gender differences in leadership, and shows how to maximize the innate talents of both genders in the workplace and in the world. She is currently working on a new book with Dr. Keith Merron on the subject of creating gender intelligent organizations.
